@LS:

Given that Kell has 3 separate letters to send, I am just wanting to know if she needs to roll 3 separate times for her Charm Animal spell? I'm assuming she does, and it's not an issue, I just want to verify that that's the case.

It won't be during battle, so you can roll three times. Technically, a 13 counts as a three-hit combo in battle. If you roll a 12 or 13, you can have a multipurpose animal/pack or multiple messengers. (2 if 12 is rolled, 3 if 13 is rolled.)

You can also opt to do this without rolling, since you'd eventually have all the birds you need.

Worth noting, I've been vague about damage and such because I wanted to mull it over after the first few battles. I also wanted to play around with other ideas not set in stone.

Long story short, damage is like this:

Melee > Ranged, and weapon size is a factor.

This will make fairies low-damaging ranged characters, although magic will allow them to do high damage (with the usual penalty of having to cast for one round). Amazons will do more damage with heavy or dual weapons, but the catch is having to be in the fray.

What this means for you is that you have a little more HP. I basically left fairies as they are, and made each other class a little tougher. (10 HP fairy / 15 HP most heroines / 20 HP iron maiden / 25 HP amazon) You still get +50% per health bonus, which puts you up to 22 HP now instead of the 18 you had before.

I also worked out what bonuses you get at the end of each chapter (up to Ch.12). Only half of the chapters give you an HP increase (meaning you'll have 60 HP by Ch.13 and other bonuses). You'll find out what you get from the rebellious immortals. Of them, only Demeter give an HP bonus.

Okay, I added a post on damage.

Since Kell has a mount (and can summon another for Leto), I added notes on mounted damage and then made another edit on "multi-attacks" which happen if you roll a 12 or higher (which will be possible when you're adding +1 or +2 to your attacks). Mounted charges and mounted cannons hurt a lot, so they get a special condition for the multi-attack. Basically, you have to plow through multiple targets.

@LS:

Question: With multiple enchanted items, call them A and B, is there a way a character can have A as their primary item, but in a fight, pull out B and temporarily have B's power supersede A? Like in Kell's case, use her chiton as primary, but if they go to battle and she needs to face the chief, have the necktie tossed to her and use that? Or would she need to remove her chiton to get the necktie to work?

Of course, the thought just occurred to me that if she removed her chiton in the middle of battle, her nymph power might have quite an interesting effect, LOL!

I just assumed no one would strip off clothing mid-battle! I won't stop you from doing that as a means to switch effects.

The idea is to just have your outfit for the day/outing so there aren't a lot of items to deal with. I originally considered having head, body, foot, etc. slots like normal RPGs but after bouncing ideas off Reaver, I preferred to make items that do a lot, but you can only have one.

There are badges and such that add to the effect of an outfit, and those can be transferred to others. Kell doesn't know it, but she has one included with one of her outfits. Leto has a badge, but hasn't figured out what to do with it. Fabian (who gave Leto his card) can help you with that.

Well, actually, the stripping down was FIRST a way to change effects mid-battle, but then it suddenly became a puzzle piece with a new and interesting possibility. If Kell intentionally strips for the sake of unleashing her nymph effect in full force (with maybe a "NOW" to her allies to give them time to avert their eyes or put a bandana over their faces - assuming either of those would even help), then suddenly our side could possibly have more able fighters than their side.

If the bandana/eye-closing won't work, what's the AoE? If there's an AoE, Kell could saunter into the midst of the bad guys, or pretend to surrender or something, then once she's out of the AoE of her allies, strip, then BAM! Our guys get to slaughter all those idiots with faces like a stunned ox! Mua-ha-ha-ha-ha! This, of course, assumes that their guys aren't all monks.

Kell has no idea what the effect area is, but if you really want to use this strategy, the Aqua Scrunchy can render Kell naked simply by adding water. (Just assume you can carry a canteen. It's a mundane survival item.)

She could wring it out and have an instant chiton when she wants to be clothed again. So with the Aqua Scrunchy, I'd say she can make herself naked in one turn and she can clothe herself in one turn. As you don the outfit, you can opt to create accessories with your mind so when clothing herself, Kell would have undergarments and such.

Is there enough water in the canteen to do a test run or two before they get there, or will doing it one time take all the water? The point would be to ballpark the AoE, and see if closing eyes and/or covering the face stops the pheromones from working. I'm thinking have everyone form a spiral around Kell so everyone is a different distance away, up to say, 30 ft, but no one has another person standing between themselves and Kell. Put the women closest, the men farthest away, and as the spiral goes out, have the first person close their eyes, the second cover their face, the third turn away from Kell, and the fourth do nothing. Repeat that pattern through the end of the line. Then she does her thing and they see who's affected. Repeat again if they need to fine tune (and there's enough water) Then once they have an approximate AoE and they know what, if anything, blocks the effect, they can plan their strategy.

When she wrings out the water from the test run, could she wring it back into the canteen?

If we can't get the info about AoE etc., then I say don't use this plan and Kell will stick with her chiton on Enlightenment.

She could do a test run by the beach. I realize I time-skipped beyond that, but if you want to work in a flashback (or I just edit the GM post) we can do that.

It seems like a flashback scene would take two posts - me to set it up, and you to give all the NPC's reactions and tell what they learned. We'd also need a way to make it clear when we're flashing back and when we're back to the present. Do you agree, and if so, would something like this work to set up the flashback?

AT NUDE BEACH, TWO HOURS AGO

((Only I'll probably underline instead of use All Caps, I just can't underline from my iPad.))

Also, has Hess stayed behind with Desma and Phoebe, or has she come with?

Works for me.

(Now it's called Nude Beach for a reason.)

If you want, Hess can stay by the hearth in case you need to go back, but she won't go up to the boss battle. Just players, the four men and the van Donk sisters.

Actually, I was going to ask something. If Kell pours the water on herself and takes the Aqua Scrunchy from her hair, can she THEN put on the necktie? Or would she have to put the Aqua Scrunchy in her backpack or drop it?

We can go to present now if you're all set with the flashback.

AoE is larger than where the battle takes place, and element of surprise is a significant factor. It would have been boring to tell you that.

You mean wear just a neck tie? She can do that. She can actually dip her clothing in her canteen and leave the Scrunchy in there, rather than pour water on herself. Then she'd get naked quickly and have a means of storing the Scrunchy so it stays wet. (She'd technically be naked with a purse on her shoulder.)

Well, for the strongest effect, she's got to get within 30 feet of most of the fighting to really debilitate the bad guys' side. If she gets that close, then I suppose it depends on whether there's cover nearby, though your earlier description made it sound like there's not. If there's cover, no problem. If there isn't cover (which I'm assuming), that's where the rub lies. I suppose, though, that being without armor means she should probably stay back and somewhat behind the others - WITHOUT the necktie, though I would like to see that passed around where appropriate. Hopefully, her magic still works at that range.

The other thing here is that I don't know what all of Leto's swell new bullets do, especially that Jump Shot one, which may or may not be useful depending on whether it zooms the one shot up and then horizontally someplace, just up and hovering, or whether it takes you up so you can grab something, then immediately back down again. It makes it hard to plan an assault when I don't know what all the tools do!

I hope you know that a lot of my questions are just me thinking over the fingertips, as it were. I don't always want to do something, I just want to know more about it so I can decide if it makes sense to do.

Oh, there was a discrepancy in the story line, I wanted to mention. After the they saw the Hesperides on the HearthVision, Kell thought that she would make a plea to Jenny to take Wilbur back after they rescued her, but there's a conflict in the story line that makes it so that I can't tell what Kell would need to tell Jenny. The first time Wilbur is mentioned, when they are questioning Vin after saving his life, it says that Wilbur (not using his name) confessed to having slept with his cow.

Then later Wilbur says that she's a little fat, but not a cow. Then in another spot it sort of sounds like the man in white was the one to call Io a cow - so if somehow the knife can show the man in white a current image of who Wilbur lost his virginity with, then that works. Mostly it's only that first reference during Vin's initial questioning that's troublesome. But anyway, if you'll tell me what to assume about Wilbur's story, I'll have Kell make an argument to Jenny on his behalf at an appropriate moment.
