HAM2D6 Discussion

I hope I didn't goof the gender. My cousin had a horse named Sunny for 25 years. I rode with her when I was 6, she was 9. She has a daughter named Alexis. That's how I make names up on the fly.

I read the RP but will do a proper GM post later at home, seeing that my phone is down to <5% battery power!

Just a heads-up, I won't be here much tomorrow or Monday. Am also going on vacation from June 7th to 14th, and while I'm bringing my laptop, the wifi's probably gonna be spotty.

((LS: can Kell charm an animal to do that even?))
Yes. Animals can be bodyguards (typical druid thing, making animals fight for you), messengers (bird carries note) or mounts (since you have Helix, you can provide a mount for somebody else).

The other use is "handmaiden" which is basically aesthetic. If you wanted to play a nymph who's like a Disney Princess, with birds and mice helping her with her cloak and serving her tea and all that, it's allowed.

Basically, you roll to get an animal or some animals (depending where you are and what you roll), and you make them do something that's physically possible …with a touch of BS because magic.

The birds in the judge X battle were basically harmless, but the plants were crazy powerful (Demeter intervened) so deaths from birds were really men ducking into the writhing plants. The birds messed with the wind defending the judge, so Leto was able to shoot him without having to roll a 10 (16.67% chance of success with #2d6, so lowering his defense was significant).

In this case, you found animals that were lousy fighters, but they still proved helpful as bodyguards.

I'll post Desma and Phoebe after reactions to the men. Kell can use the man in black's bandage. Leto is free to check the cake for Phoebe.

@LS: I seem to recall you said something about being able to get to the Underground (where Buck and the Fairies live, I assume) from any location, but when I went back to find that post and verify details, I couldn't finding it. And I re-read most of chapter 1 and the HAM2D6 discussion, too!

Kell's starting to think that if that's possible, it might be a safer location for Vin and his friends to stay at. But I don't want to suggest it IG until I know if it's a viable option.

LS: I'm trying to do the right thing by people and get Vin and his 3 friends and the 3 fiancées out of the clutches of the man in white. I'm thinking Desma's place is compromised,so she, Phoebe, and maybe Hess need to stay elsewhere. Leto, Kell, and the Van Donks can attempt to be ready for the man in white and his goons at Desma's, but I need some help to get everyone ELSE a place to stay, please.

Here are my ideas:
The Underground with Buck and the fairies
With Patty Melt (wherever she stays)
With Desma's aunt and uncle
With Daryl and Alexa
Ginormous beach slumber party with everyone together where we just avoid the man in white (at least for tonight)

Given that it's now evening, Kell/I feel like it's a lot to ask someone else to take on at the last minute. So I need some help to know either who can tolerate the last-minute request, or to just go with the beach slumber party idea.

Thanks!

Beach slumber party sounds like the best arrangement for the group. Pick a beach and I'll skip to morning unless a random thing happens at night. (I'll roll for both beaches now.)

While dancing is happening in game...

Here are my daughters dressed up for next week's performance. First year all three are on stage!

Yes I am.

Gotta watch a movie with the girls now, so I posted Helix's reply but will also show the burning men later whether there's a player post or not.

@Ireth, I snuck in an edit not realizing you were online. You don't have to change your post, but I'm just letting you know I added some information. I'm also updating the world as we know it thread. So now you know which Olympian is in charge of Hesperides, for example.

Part of deciding which Olympians would be on the players' side was looking into the different stories. I am conveniently picking and choosing, deciding, for example, which of Artemis' abuses of power happened in the game's story. She killed Actæon, but she and Apollo did NOT kill fourteen children.

The Callisto story gives Artemis an incentive to rebel against her father. It is by far the strangest of the Greek myths, and one they don't tell you about in school. (And if they did, how did I forget such a story?) Of course it's Zeus taking the form of his own daughter. I'm not sure why he would do this to Artemis and her best friend. I guess "because he can" (and often does).

Edited!

I think next time I should just double-post. I thought the edit would be quick, but since Callisto now has to come to terms with the fact it was Zeus, not Artemis, I needed her to react to that.

Vin will have to say his piece on the whole parentless birth thing later. Let's just say he's enjoying the touch of Kell's hand and is rather speechless about everything happening at once. A bit overwhelmed, but it's an overall positive feeling.

@Ireth, Thread of Holding is updated to show Leto can opt to use a hand cannon. It's called Six-Shooter. You can fire an extra shot for each natural six you roll. With a double six, that would come out to three bullets, but since Leto can roll without penalty, rolling a 12 means she attacks twice. So if you roll a 12, you'll fire every bullet in your gun. So Leto will either fire 4-6 bullets, or fire 1-3 bullets AND reload.

After firing six bullets, you need to reload before you can use the gun again. Reloading means not attacking for one turn, but you can reload.

It might just be me, but Kell whispering to Leto makes me fear Leto has somehow said too much about the war between the Immortals. I'm not entirely sure how, but. :/

Dark Lord
Nah, Kell's not whispering because Leto said too much, but because Kell doesn't want to say too much.
