I lift off above the water, to the land west of the Crow. I make sure I'm high in the air. Over a hundred feet up, out of crossbow range. Whether they make out my form or simply focus on the fire, I do not know or care. As long as their attention is on me, and not the boats.

As fast as I can, I head to the front of the Crow, high enough that I can see over it. I'll save my voice until one of the sentries gets too close to the cliff's edge, unless the reaction from below gives me reason to speak sooner.

I wonder if the alpha speaks the common tongue. Surely, he understands it…?

Bressel
"Hi naked winged woman...Bye." He says his mouth open in shock.

When we reach the cliff, Bressel will look for anything to tie the boat, if nothing he will have to use his grapling hook, then tie the two smaller boats to the larger. If needed he will help others get to the bigger boat, so they will be ready to climb or be pulled up.

Aliron
"Lets get to the wall!" says softly and waves towards the wall in case he was not heard.

Aliron ready to climb as the boats approach, rope and grapling hook ready.

As soon as he can he climbs:
Climb, listen, find traps[1d20+6] = 6+6 = 12
The Unseen Servant
The Unseen Servant

[Being that we could have two people climb at once, sadly I must say Cadell will have to go last to get everyone up as fast as possible. Since Cadell will have to be pulled up. Bressel will climb up as soon as all boats are secure, probably just before Cadell, he has a bow just in case.

Mauve hunches in the burned out structure, waiting, unable to see the ocean or whether her comrades are approaching. After a length of time that seems to stretch out considerably, she decides to act. She threads her way carefully through burned buildings to within fifty feet of the enemy, then casts her enchantment and sending a blue bead of light out toward the enemy gathered together in front of the Crow.

One of the dog-faces sees the blue flash streaking across and barks out in alarm. The dog-face leader, two other dog-faces, and a goblin on warg-back all turn toward the light, but the spell goes off before they have a chance to think about what they're seeing. The light flashes into nothingness and a blast of sound fills the air in front of the Crow.

Dog-Face Leader Save [1d20+3] = 4+3 = 7

Dog-Face #1 Save [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17

Dog-Face #2 Save [1d20+2] = 16+2 = 18

Dog-Face #3 Save [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15

Goblin Save [1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2

Warg Save [1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10

All of the creatures in within range of the loud burst of sound are stunned, the goblin pitching forward off its mount and onto the hard ground. The other creatures are simply dazed, swaying on their feet as they try to regain their senses.

The blast is loud enough to draw the attention of all of the other guards and sentries, and cries go up both within town and around the outskirts as creatures run toward the source of the noise.

The noise is heard at sea as well, though with the sound of the waves against the rock and the distance, it is much more muted. Still, for those who fought the lizard shaman in the tunnels, the sound is familiar. It is the same thunderous retort that echoed so loudly underground.

It goes off just moments after Baldhart lights her torch and Nissa materializes, taking to the air. The sentries that were closest to the edge of the cliffs have disappeared entirely, rushing toward the front of the Crow.

The party surges ahead on the waves, making the rocky cliffs. Aliron scrambles from the boat and begins to climb the wet rock toward the top of the cliffs some thirty feet above.

((Ops, sleepiness made me confuse stuff in my last PM. She had to move and I have no idea of where she is now. xD))

I can't help but grin at the result of my spell, even if the not-stunned monsters are coming for me now with their fast wargs and incredible sense of smell. If my companions were waiting for a new distraction I don't know, but they better hurry or I'll be doomed!

Glancing around, I attempt to the dermine the safest building to climb, preferentially one that looks like it still has part of the roof. If I can't find one I have no other option than jumping inside the first house I can find and waiting above the door.

For how long I'll last by doing the unexpected? They'll learn to look up now...

((I'd like to think Baldy made it up the cliff as well as Alin, if not ahead of him, considering her STR checks [29 rowing her own boat / 20 to climb]. If she's up, let me know, I have plans for her in addition to dropping the rope.))

Nissa

Mauve's distraction paid off! I'll need to keep the dogs confused a bit longer…

I fly overhead, out of crossbow range just to be sure, and let me voice carry—hoping to draw attention away from Mauve.

"Now that I have your attention, let me introduce myself…

"I am Sinda Nav-nok, and my Lady has summoned me to investigate why you are still here and her daughter is still in there." I look at the Alpha. "McBarker, I assume you are in charge? If you can speak the common tongue, please do so. If not, I assume you understand it. Nod if you do. My Lady does not wish me to waste time."

((Baldy is up as well)).

A few seconds pass before the effect of Mauve's spell wear off, and by then Nissa has appeared in the sky and made her statement. The creatures who were moving toward Mauve's hiding place pull up short, turning toward the sound of the voice, and those outside the Crow turn away from the tavern and look up toward Nissa.

Dog-Face Leader INT [1d20+3] = 12+3 = 15

The leader barks a few words in a tongue incomprehensible to all of you, and then looks up to Nissa. He speaks in the common language, his words more intelligible than you might expect given the look of him.

"Sinda," he says, "the child ran there." He points at the Crow. "We did not want to hurt her, so we did not press the attack. We have been speaking to them, and she has agreed to return with us to her mother." The dog-face leader gestures toward the pack on the ground a few feet from the tavern door. "Some of her things are packed, there. She asked three hours to eat, prepare herself, and say goodbye to her friends. This seemed reasonable to me. She will come out soon and we will go north with all haste!"

As the leader speaks all but those patrolling the outskirts of town make their way toward the leader, craning their necks to catch a look at the strange flying creature with the torch.

"I see. Yes, it is a reasonable request, and by the state of this place I feared Catli had been harmed. It is a relief to know that she is not, and you have granted her time to eat well. My Lady will be pleased."

I fly lower, surveying the small army… a thoughtful, "Hmm…" with a purposeful glance to the north, then east. I fly up and look harder, northeast.

"Three hours, you said? That should not pose a problem. Just the same, I did notice some villagers heading northeast during my flight. Likely, they are fleeing for their lives. They were not impressively armed. Hunting bows and axes more suited for chopping wood than fighting. A dozen moved out, scattered in five groups of two-to-three.

"My Lady summoned me as an overseer and messenger. I am not here to relieve you of your command, however. So, now that you know people have headed northeast, I believe I should give you a moment to decide on what is to be done, if anything, and give the necessary commands, if any."

I hover, as if this mundane task is somewhat of a bother, and as if indifferent to what the command is as long as one is given so I can move my own agenda forward.

Baldhart

I climb the rocks without the need for Alin's rope. It takes great strength to grip the holds on these wet rocks—or so I think until Alin catches up to me. It seems no effort is needed for him to move up.

At the top, I tie Mauve's silk rope so others can use it. But… to go up or down?

I point out the back door to Alin. I may be able to get in unhead, timing my steps with Nissa's voice… but a locked door would stop me, maybe not Alin.

((If there's a window, I peer inside, looking for Burnbright. I could tap lightly, but first let's see if I'm noticed. If spotted, I'll give the 'hush' sign—finger on lip—then wave Burnbright over, or Grim, or whoever sees me. If the window can open, in I go! …if I'm let in, of course!))

((By the way, Baldhart, Aliron, and Mauve will be able to hear the conversation, which must be spoken loudly enough so that Nissa and the dog-face can hear each other at a distance. Those still in boats cannot hear it due to distance and the sounds of the ocean waves)).

The dog-face leader shrugs. "Let them go." He gestures at the burned out buildings, the bodies they have staked out in front of the Crow. "The time for fear has passed. We have achieved our goal. The girl will come out." He glances at the sun in the sky. "Not long, now, I think. You can tell the lady we will bring the child north as planned. Those who fled have won their lives, as have the others who are inside with the girl. When my people take to their ancestral lands once more we will deal with those who remain." The dog-face turns his gaze on the destruction around him and mutters, barely audibly, "though whether in war or peace remains to be seen."

There is indeed a rear window, looking into the store room and, beyond, through an open door into the kitchen. Burnbright is there, a second pack in hand, which she is filling with foodstuffs from the shelves of the store room. Grim, too, is there, glowering. He snaps a few words that you cannot hear. It is clear he is angry. It is just as clear that Burnbright is resolutely unmoved by whatever he says.

When you tap on the window, both look over. Burnbright looks startled, then breaks into a wide grin. She dashes to the window, throws the latches, and tries to open it. The wood of the window pane is warped and swollen, and she struggles to open it more than an inch.

"I knew you were alive!" she says in a loud whisper.

SeverinR

Valar Lord
"Open the door, we need to hurry." I tell her, as I look back at the progress below. "We need a quick decision, stay and play with the dogs or free and flee in the breeze. If we flee, we don't need to have everyone come up. We might need to save Mauve, if that is the case the sooner the better. Nissa is handling it perfectly." I nod towards Baldy.
"How many people are in the building? Do we have room?"

If it won't make noise, I help with the window.

((If success…))

I giver her a hug. "Let's get out of here," I say in a low voice. "Nissa can't trick the sentries into leaving, so we must.

"If there's room in the boats, that is…"

((Going out now. Will RP Nissa later…))

Grim comes to the window, forcing it further up with Baldhart's help. It is stiff against the pane, but not loud. He looks at Aliron and Baldhart, and then at the sea beyond. "We've got a few. My wife is wounded, as is Joffur. There are a couple of fishermen from Arendal, a black-skinned giant from Tyr-knows-where, and one of my serving girls. That's seven of us, right?" He runs through the count on his fingers. "Eight. I don't know what happened to the rest of the village, or how many escaped. We sent a group of kids away north, to the old temple. I don't think the creature's followed them, but I can't be sure Did you see them?"

No sound could make me happier now than Nissa's voice, except maybe the sound of these dogs dying. I listen to their exchange in silence while my mind works in a way of getting out of here. The ideal would be sneak back to the crag, however, my chances are slim now part of their attention is turned to the north.

I retrieve Calexa's robe from my backpack and dress it over my own clothes, attempting to make as little noise as possible. If it has a hood I pull it up to shadow my face. After getting ready I attempt to sneak through the burnt buildings, back to the sea.

((I believe a roll would required be due her bad spot.))

"The children arrived safely, and Sir Matthew, follower of Tyr, stayed with them. We have room for everyone combining our group and yours," I whisper. "Let us get everyone safe first, then…"

I size up the dark-skinned giant, and make sure he hears me, "…anyone willing and able can help us destroy these monsters. They'll split into groups looking for us. Nissa will stall them, but only for so long. When she run out of things to say, she'll leave a human scent to the Northeast."

My next words are to the dark-skinned man. "You seem plenty strong. Would you help me with Grim's wife? Two ropes and two of us." To Burnbright, "You climb down first, Sister. If you're fast, you'll see who Nissa is—and this time you won't be pretending to see her in a fire to spare my feelings."

"Yes." I pretend to ponder the wisdom of his decision, but not too long. Can't have air in the conversation. "I agree there is no further need for bloodshed. The twelve who ran, I believe will keep running—and they certainly will not interfere will all of you grouped together.

"My Lady will surely be pleased that Catli had time for a meal and a good-bye, for this both physically and mentally prepares her for the long journey ahead. Speaking of which, I have one more question for you, then I shall circle the area once more, report to you what I see, if
anything, then leave hastily so I may report to my Lady.

"So then, my question: has Catli's comfort been taken into consideration. For example, must she travel on foot, or did you spare any horses so that she may ride one on the long journey northward?"

Batos tugged the boat closer to the cliffs, preparing to tow anyone away. He is panting slightly, but appears to be strong enough for another two trips.

Aldar comes huffing and puffing to the window which baldgart is trying to climb out of.
"Nice work mauve!" Aldar says sounding impressed with her skill. I think we should go after the children, Who knows what fould creatures are lurking in shadows chasing them.If we're going to leave them, lets hurry and get back to the boats we dont have much time, I see the dogs are starting to come round."

"We need strong rowers in each boat, the wounded and healers in the big boat, then divide the rest into small boats."
"The fishermen should be able to handle the boats better then us."
"Burnbright down first, someone else down the other line while we move the wounded through the window. The strong will lower the wounded down, I will be down last to release the ropes."
"Tell Brussel to ready the first boat to move out of crossbow range. When the big boat is full ready it to move too. Then we'll fill the last boat."
"If any hostile action move the full boats out of range, the remaining boats will finish loading then head out. Cover fire only, do not wait around. Shield the rowers if you have a shield."
All the directions I tell the people next to the crow, because I don't want any chance of the enemy to hear me.
"Hey, just remember, Stealth is my area, I am not the leader." I say with a smile.
"Get in, grab the valubles, and get out unseen, no one needs to get hurt." I add.
