Aphrodite peers into the portal. "Oh, it's Heph-friendly alright. This world looks like my husband's wildest fantasies. The ones I can't help him with."

Artemis rolls her eyes, "You don't need to elaborate on that."

Aphrodite says, "I wouldn't dream of it, dear. Just like I wouldn't elaborate on how you spend evenings with your nymph companions."

Artemis puts one hand on Icarus' shoulder and another on Hess'. "There are children present."

Hestia says, "I'm your aunt. I'm older than all of you Olympians."

Aphrodite tells her, "The years have been too kind."

Icarus whispers to the fairies, "Goddesses are really weird."

"Yeah," Penni says, "I think I'm just gonna press thi—"

Penni leans close, making her appear quite large onscreen. Her index finger moves especially close. Then the screen suddenly goes blank.

Sigrlinn blinks as the screen goes blank, then looks at Kell again. "Well, we know what we're here to do... but I'd like to know where we are. If I had to guess... though I don't even know if it's possible... I'd say we might be in Heph's mind. Why else would the place be tailored to suit him?"

Kell tells Sigrlinn philosophically, "I guess that's our signal to start exploring. Shall we, or do you want to talk more about where to start looking?"

The room is has mostly books and globes that emit light and furniture. One could spend all day reading and having snacks here, or watching the HearthVision through a box. Most notably, the room is orderly and clean.

Except for a ring of dust, which reminds Sigrlinn of the simulator. The ring is moving toward your fly.

((Both of you, roll GRACE Sig:#2X3 / Kell:#4X3 to fly through—
—or—
Don't roll at all to fly around.))

Sigrlinn looks over at the ring of dust and veers the metal fly toward it. "Let's start with finding whatever's making that dust. You can practice steering while we're at it. Aim for the middle of the ring!"

Kell suggests, "How about we fly around that ring of dust? I wonder if it's the cleaner-upper around here." If Sigrlinn agrees, Kell moves her stick right to avoid the ring of dust.

Muttering, "I hope that dust doesn't clog up the mechanical bits of our fly," Kell follows Sigrlinn's lead and aims for the center of the ring.

Kell really doesn't feel like she's got the hang of flying just yet.

The windows are gray with dust for a moment, then our heroines pass through the ring. There is an Iron Maiden in a little maid outfit. She has a feather duster. She sweeps dust rings all over the place.

((Roll GRACE to pass through another ring.
-or-
Don't roll to fly around far away from any rings.))

Sigrlinn doesn't bother trying to fly through the rings this time, and instead calls out to the maid. "Hallo! Can you please help us? We're trying to find our friend Heph. It's very important that we do!"

The maid looks up at you--though if she is to be considered 'human size,' you are tinier than a fly's eye. She hears you, but based on her reaction, your voice is so annoying she wants you dead!

"Oh. How disorderly."

She swings her feather duster at you.

((Defenses:
Instinct - evasive maneuver! S#3E5 / K#1E5
Grace - force field (x1) S#2E5 / K#4E5
Power - pull up! S#3E5 / K#2E5

Edited my own goof-up!))

Kell punches the red button, then pulls her stick back hard. "Let's try to get above her!"

((Oops--should've been E5 instead of X3 for defense. I shouldn't do this on my phone.

Still a success. Keep the roll.

What I meant was…

Defenses:
Instinct - evasive maneuver! S#3E5 / K#1E5
Grace - force field (x1) S#2E5 / K#4E5
Power - pull up! S#3E5 / K#2E5

Sigrlinn does the same, wondering if this maiden can be reasoned with -- if they can avoid being swatted!

((While I'm making goofs, I also narrated a GM post in 2nd-person. I think I like GM'ing better that way, so now I'm using 2nd-person POV on purpose…))

You manage to pull up out of the way!

The maid says, "Why do you not stay still?"

She continues to swing her feather duster at you. But you pulled so high she can't reach.

((My fault for giving you the wrong dice, but you each rolled a successful 'pull up!' so you not only dodged, but flew up to the ceiling.

There are several options now, none of which involve immediate die-rolling. You're in a room with bookshelves and furniture and some kind of steam-powered light bulb things under lampshades. The windows are glass, and they're closed. You can fly into another room, but the top of the door is about 6'8" from the ground and the metal maid is petite, but over 5' tall.

You may or may not have to dodge and attack if you attempt to fly out of the room or do anything that puts you in her reach.))

Sigrlinn shouts to the metal maid, "Please, we need your help! We're looking for our friend!"

Kell isn't sure this maid maiden knows how to do anything except clean, and isn't sure she'll see them as anything except as a fly to be swatted, but for now, the nymph follows Sigrlinn's lead. They're going to have to get some information from someone at some point, after all.

The maid jumps up and down flailing her feather duster.

"Oh, come away from the ceiling."

She misses by a foot, then swings again and misses by a yard. It may as well be a mile.

"Why do you not let me kill you?"

tbgg

Dark Lord
Kell snorts a laugh, then calls, "Is it really so difficult for you to understand that we have no wish to die?"

"Very well, fly. Do not leave the premises. I shall return momentarily."

With that she walks away, taking a few seconds to dust a table on the way out.

Sigrlinn looks uneasily at Kell. "I hope she's not just leaving to get a stepladder or a longer flyswatter!"
