I wonder if Kell and one of the fairies or even Aphrodite could cast some sort of defensive combo spell from the ground? (Assuming LS didn't do away with that in the simplification). If Apollo fights with the sun, that's presumably fire, so I wonder if a water spell could help?

Kell's busy! Helix is on his way, actually. The failure to dodge Helios while below him made getting around the mansion take a bit longer than usual.

I am going to do away with that particular magic-combo thing. I feel like if I start simple, I can have a balanced game that is adequately challenging.* I'm glad you like the Olympian plot, so I won't say goodbye to the storyline. I will say goodbye to items and *some* spells. Blades of Ice and Nature's Call stay, though they might be a little different.

*I like having defense work often, so when you do fail to defend, it can be catastrophic. Especially when you fail to dodge a double-damage attack! (So that midair tackle counted as 2 hits, but the damage goes to MH5, not the fairy who gets KO'd in 2 hits.)

Ok, so LS, if you're doing away with items and some spells, I need you tell me EVERYTHING Kell has left as a usable option.

Magic won't be slow anymore, and in fact I'm not 100% sure I'm sticking with the spell-list I have now, but let's say you have two spells:

1. Call of Nature: you can entangle.
2. Blades of Ice: you fight with Grace and block with an ice shield (Power), which means you roll twice as many dice as usual for attack and defense. (If you already had a shield, you'd get Ice Armor and defense with Grace.)

Unarmed combat sucks, but it would make you the target instead of the tiny robot girl.

This is 1000% relevant to this game. XDDD

Don't go giving LS any ideas [emoji850]. We barely survived the first attack, LOL

Oh! I was misunderstood. (Understandably.)

When I said double the dice, I meant………

You defend fight/shoot with a shield (power) instead of dodging (instinct). The nymph rolls 2 dice for power, 1 for instinct.
You attack with grace instead of power. The nymph rolls 4 dice for grace, 2 dice for power.
And if you already have a shield, you'd get Ice Armor and defend with grace.

So by double, I meant you'd roll a different attribute which uses twice as many dice as the attribute you'd normally use.

Sorry—that's why I'm better off not explaining why the spell is useful!

But still, leave the rolls as they are. We'll say you cast (4 dice) and combo'd (2 dice), and in the combo, you used the blades created by the spell.

@tbgg, yes, the combo has to hit for the ice effect to happen. So if you roll zero, you just inflict damage from the first hit. For a major effect, you need a 3-hit combo.

Sorry… gotta finish this tomorrow.

Ireth's battle is won, and Kell has been hit twice but is kicking butt. I'll try to make the last bit of her fight fun and more than just a slug-fest.

I want to have a GM narrative that describes the feeling of frustration in not being able to hit Apollo after destroying Helios! Both players just missing, and only needing a 1 on the combo and rolling zero! Ha!

Is Kell's winged antagonist Hermes? I had to go back and review which of the Olympians are on which side, but it looks like Hermes joined Zeus due to a rather well-aimed lightning bolt.

Other than that, the only winged male figure from Greek mythology I can think of is Icarus, who flew too close to the sun, but Icarus is more fool than a bad guy.

Ooh, I didn't even think of Hermes. My second guess was Thanatos.

Thanatos is a good guess! He even seems to be winged, and the light-sucking dagger definitely fits the idea of a death god.

That was why I thought Hades at first, since he's also associated with death. But, we'll see when/if LS fills us in. ^^

Note: my last post shows the battle that Ireth already won. I'm sort of bending time since Ireth and I rolled 3 rounds on Rolz. I'll try to post the big finish this afternoon.
