So there isn't some sort of Hufflepuff God that takes 'all the rest' and is used as a cautionary tale of embarrassment? 'Don't displease the gods, children, or you might be taken by the God of Hufflepuff to exist in mediocrity for all time!'

Hey, Hufflepuff is an awesome house. *waves black and yellow badger flag* It's the house of the loyal, the just, the patient, the true, the hardworking... Though I admit I'm kinda biased. XD

Ha! Ouron, the god of time, is said to take most those who didn't go to another god. Call him Helga Hufflepuff, though, and you might find yourself entombed alive in the depths of a mountain...

Bah! They all pale compared to Ravenclaw, the Forgotten House, the Ignored House, the Unappreciated House. The only reason they never get the plot time they deserved is because as heroes they'd solve it all too quickly and as villains they'd win! The only reason so many Ravenclaws abandoned the Battle of Hogwarts is because with them involved it would've been too easy! Those with intellegince and the will to succeed will always triumph over... and this has devolved into a diatribe.

*agrees that Ravenclaw is the best and severely overlooked and Hermione was basically a Ravenclaw and the most useful character in the books, so why didn't we see more of them anyway*

After Ireth's remark about hands on shoulders, I had to see what would happen :x

Oh and LS, I didn't see your post earlier, but writing an intro for Hala is something I'd prefer to do at a proper keyboard rather than my phone, so it's going to have to wait until around 6 (EST)

That works for me. I got tied up, so I don't have time to post anything well thought out.

Hurray for Ravenclaw! Why must everyone forget about them? You'd think the wizarding world would appreciate its nerds...

Well, that'll be me for the night, both in world and out. Bit of a long one but I do enjoy writing Loke's mundane, surprisingly functional, yet utterly failing life.

Just wanted to add that no one feel pressured to jump forward on my account. Feel free to spend as much time as you want, I just won't be picking up Loke again until the next day starts.

I feel bad for Einan. Why must all the characters I write be so tortured? Except for Troia, of course. Her life is very well-adjusted. And Ari. I bet the only thing he's ever been tortured about is waiting for his next meal.

I'll wait for Farrun to respond to Rikhard before I have Rikhard notice Einan.

I second your thoughts about tortured characters, Tom. Most of mine have some tragedy at some point in their backstories. It's how they deal with it that makes them different and interesting.

Tom

Istari
Agreed. It's not that I want to torture them...it just makes them so much more interesting....:(

Exaaaactly. :( And then you just want to hug them forever and tell them it'll be okay. While plotting the next truckload of hardship to dump on them.

Need to head offline, but I'll be back in a few hours. Hopefully Nimue will have a reply to Rikhard by the time I get back.

That's fine. I thought I'd move Addy one step closer to her audience with Hala. She'll be clean and clad in her "anaconda qipoa."

By the way, is it possible that an adventurous character, such as Addison, had once explored another continent? Somewhere "eastern"? Not that an Asia-like place needs for exist in order for Asian-style clothing to exist.

It looks like this…

The eastern lands are pretty much unreachable and travel isn't that common, so no, I'd say it isn't a possibility. I guess I'm okay with a qipao because that style of dress could come from the Auroë, but in the future I'd ask that "Asian-inspired" stuff in Ysgard be minimal. Things from the Auroë are really uncommon in western Ysgard--Caern is about as far from the Auroë as is possible. And the Auroë have Mongolian influences mainly... Chinese culture is okay to draw upon for the most part, Japanese and Korean culture less so. Trying to avoid the "Asian monolith" trope.

I'll put up a longer post when I'm home, something to meet them up with Einan and set up the scene with Hala and Addy.
