Of course, I hope Alin and Bressel don't miss if Nissa doesn't drop the guy. Her AC will be a lousy 6! Unless she can do the harpy hit-and-run thing, she'll need help. If the fish demon is down to 1 or 2 HP, KO by Nissa's unarmed attack!

Looking at the latest update -- it seems like Liadan will have to make a DEX check to grab Batos when he gets close to her. Is that right? I don't want to roll if it's not needed.

Yeah, make a DEX check to grab him. Unless she wants to let go and jump in on top of him. That probably wouldn't need a check :)

You can make a couple attempts to grab him if you like, since I think its reasonable he'd pass under her twice in six seconds. If you can think of anything to give bonuses, or any tricks to get hold of him, you can give those a shot as well (for example, a +2 mod thanks to Baldhart's prayer wouldn't be out of line). I have the bar set pretty low for a successful check, but 8 isn't quite enough :)

All I can think of is having Cadell sing again, but I was hoping to save that for the possibility of a fight against the gnolls. In any case, that would only help me next round, wouldn't it?

Even so, if you say I can make two checks this round, then I'm darn well going to try. XD

I don't know. Generally prayers don't have much of an in-game effect, unless it is something like a Cleric using a spell or a player using a class ability. In extraordinary situations I'll throw in a +2 modifier on behalf of a character that is particularly devout (and Baldhart has been a consistently devout advocate for Brynhild). Throwing another +2 on top of it isn't likely here, even with Liadan praying. If you like you could consider the +2 a cumulative bonus for the prayers. If Cadell were to use his ability again, that would stack.

Here's a more serious attempt at help…

Must it be DEX? What I mean is, can wisdom be used to time the action, and at that point she can use her healing touch? (Then in the next round, she times again and uses STR to grab hold so we can do the barbarian life flight?)

Welp, I already rolled for DEX, so I'm not sure it can be fixed retroactively (unless Steerpike says so). I'll adjust my post to add the new roll and see what happens.
