okay i did rolz (had a few issues cuz i just realized Batos may have heard Cadell's song so now... he either suceeded and made a hit or didn't... wasn't the distance heard 60 ft and each box was 5 feet? if so, then he heard it)

Just go to rolz.org.
Enter your character name as Nickname, enter "DE2013" as Room Name. Click join, then roll. If you do that correctly in the next few minutes, you'll see Baldhart saying hello.
EDIT - I take that back. You'll see Baldhart roll over 100 zeroes, then say hello. But you're already in, so looks like my 'help' came too late.
Cadell's "Exalt" only increases attribute checks. Hit rolls aren't covered. Also, Batos has -2 to attacks for being in the water, so an 11 is a miss. Then again, you didn't add STR or hit, so your 11 might be a 12 if Batos has +3 STR. (Add 3, but lose 2 because of the penalty.) If Batos has any other kind of hit bonus (do wolves get a +1 like fighters do?), he's more likely to hit.
Well, I suppose you know what bonuses Batos has, and Steerpike does if you don't. If you know the damage roll, roll it anyway in case you did hit.
PS - if you click on the tiny, gray and white d20-shaped symbol next to your roll, you get an image. You can copy-paste it here. Like THIS:

Nah… I wouldn't edit. Just run with it, and if you didn't use the roll correctly, SP will let you know.
I think when Batos killed the magic user, you rolled as a STR check and it worked, so I think your post is fine as is.

OK, I'm back in town. Got up at 2:30 in the morning to drive back. I'll either update tonight or, if I pass out on the front doorstep, first thing in the morning before work.

From what Steerpike has told me when I've asked about Llucheden, animal-characters don't get stats the same way as people-characters do. They add +2 to all their d20 rolls, and all physical traits (STR, DEX and CON) are prime. So Batos wouldn't have a +3 STR stat, he'd have +2 everything stats. Steerpike can feel free to correct me if I've remembered something inaccurately.

That's right. He'd have +2 STR, CON, and DEX. WIS, INT, and CHA are considered non-prime for animals.

Actually, let me clarify. You were right initially. He'd get +2 on all checks, because of being a 2 HD animal. But only STR, DEX, and CON would be prime, so the base roll to beat for those would be 12, while for the others it would be 18.

Do characters on the stairs still need DEX checks to get to safety?

No. And since the gap at the top of the stairs is only around 5 feet right now, I think people can leap across without a check.

Okay, good. Was worried for a bit there, since I think Cadell's Exalt lost effect after one round. ^^
