oh,oh. Blatos jumped off the stairs, stairs that might collapse, and is in the rocky domain of the sea demons? "Under the boardwalk, down by the sea, on a rickety staircase with fish demons is where I'll be." Just doesn't inspire romance.

If we can get everyone off the stairs, get Baltos up top, we could simply shoot holes in the fishies as they struggled to climb the slippery rocks below. If the sea serpant hits the stairs again, I'd say they are going down. So would the quick approach by the fish demons.

Great axe chop? If room for thrust only, a great wood chop into the fish creature would still be possible. Not the side swings, but over head would be possible.

Yes, I reckon Batos may well be going for a swim, If we can just get everyone up onto the top of the cliffs we can easily take the demons out should they try and scale the walls.

*cough* keit still has the entangle spell... (anyone up for a game of shooting fish in a barrel?) and i expected Batos to land in the water, but hopefully take out the fish demon in the process and, if the spell is cut off, maybe take out the spider too, but then that doesn't HAVE to work as i expect it. I actually fully expect that the spider still be there, but having the caster gone would be nice.

Also, since keit still has the flute, Steer could you have the warg or something howl again so that she may actually notice it? I don't want her to suddenly remember hearing it from afar and then playing the flute in a bid to communicate.

On that note, any indication of when Cadell should reach the town and join the battle would be much appreciated.

Keit, I thought that at one point myself, If we take out the summoner perhaps the spider will vanish as well. Nice move taking him out, We can only hope. Maybe he was just "calling" it though, who knows.

Caster had 8 damage(Aliron), +6 from Baltos. 14 damage unless it regenerates.
Not sure if there was leaping/falling damage bonus to the caster other then being knocked down.
Caster should be close to death.

Sea rider-3 damage (thinking this one is tougher then the rest.)

Spider-23 damage (7,8,7)

Hoping the militia will begin shooting

Just to clarify on the magic missile - you were out of mana, by my count. I have you at -1 mana right now, so no you can't cast anything else. Your last attempt was at 1 mana point. Since magic missile takes 2 mana, you were able to make the attempt (as long as your mana is positive, you can try to cast even with insufficient mana) but it was heavily penalized and the spell didn't go off.

It's called 'fighting disengage.' You want to do that next turn so the spider doesn't get a free hit on you. I had Baldhart circle before striking (if possible/legal) to get out of Hall's way. That is, I had her do a partial fighting disengage. (Half her movement or less.)

There's been hints like the cracking sound and venom eating through the floor... hints pointing to the idea that melee vs. spider is suicidal.


EDIT- You shouln't roll an attack for fighting disengage. Baldy's risking herself to see that others leave first. I don't know about Gisla, but Baldhart can take more damage than anyone else... not that she wants to. But she's pretty sure she won't drop from an attack that might drop Hall or Liadan.

@Seth, that will have to be your next turn. You already attacked. But voicing Hall's agreement to retreat is legal. (SP's easy on us for adding dialogue, even though we might say a bit much in six seconds. As long as we don't put together a complex plan in a turn, it's fine to talk.)

Also, keep in mind that with a fighting disengagement, you can move only half your move and take no other action that same rounds. That means you get three squares of movement and you can't do anything else, if you're going to successfully disengage in this manner. If you have any questions, check out the rules threads. They should give a decent idea of how much you can expect to do in one combat round.

In that case, Baldhart just moved three squares toward the way up. (That is, if she can't remain engaged with the enemy and circle to a better position.)

...or if she has to stay put because I made an attack roll, that's fine too.
