As soon they find the knife on a corpse they'll keep it. ;D

P.s.: Should we stab Baldhart again with the knife to return it to the fishies?
I prefer gift-wrapping it.

Also, Baldhart didn't call for a retreat so much as she said 'kill the fishes first.' Anyway, I think even if Bressel's attack damage is penalized due to thrust-only room (not sure how that will affect a great axe), that last demon is likely dead.

I think it's safe to assume everyone wants to get off the stairs (top floor).

Baldhart wants to go back down, but her reason is not a priority during a battle. Only John Goodman's character would consider this important in a life-or-death situation.

[warning: f-bombs if you go beyond the 3-second quote]

...Somehow I think Baldy is gonna need to invest in a new pair of tighty not so whites before this night is done. Just saying.

HP damage won't affect your ability to fight. Under the rules, you can fight as well with 1 HP as you can with full HP. In the past, I've used some house rules that impose penalties at 75% HP, 50% HP, and 25% HP, but those rules tend to lead to wounded characters quickly becoming more vulnerable and less able to defend themselves, so I only use them when running a particularly gritty game where we expect a lot of character death and a very bloody, dangerous game overall.

OK, I'm going through everything now. I was at a hotel last night and the wifi was horrible - kept getting disconnected or couldn't load pages. So I didn't get to any of it :)

FYI - for those who use Unseen Servant, they are having some issues right now. Two consecutive die rolls ended up with results of 'zero,' which isn't possible. Guess I should use the other site!

Question - unless I'm misreading the main thread, everyone except Liadan attacked Hall's fish demon. Which means no one attacked Bressel's fish demon. With everyone else on Hall's demon, it doesn't make sense to read the thread as Bressel attacking the same fish demon as Hall, especially as he is engaged with a fish demon of his own who will get a shot at him as he runs to Hall's demon. Am I reading this wrong?

I know Baldy took out the fish that bit me, and sent that one over the rails. (This is the fish that is on my right on the map) Then I went after the other fish on the staircase, (this is the one below Baldy and myself) which I think would then be the one Bressel took out. So we can ignore my slaying of the last fish, unless Bressel's attack didn't finish the guy off, then we can add my attack and that should attend to that problem.

That's how I saw the series of events from my POV. Plus I Kiet, Aldar seem to be organizing the retreat from the big ol' fishy creature. And Lidan looks to be providing cover fire for Bressel too.

Does that help at all?

Yeah, I just realized my error. I my noted, I hadn't written down your second attack. Technically, your punch at the fish demon on you was an unarmed attack, which is a standard action, so you couldn't attack again. So I just had written down that you punched the one who attacked you, and then for Bressel's turn I wrote down that he attacked the same one you did :p

Fixed :) Will have a post up shortly.

Okay, I made a note on the attack limits, won't happen again (I hope). Looking forward to the new round.

Liadan attacked Bressel's demon, but her arrow missed.

I'm not sure if my railing kill is legal. I know SP counts STR checks in conjunction with successful charge attacks, and I used STR to bat a goblin away—the goblin having died from the attack damage. I'm assuming that my 'railing kill' only works if the fish demon died from my attack.

No problem. It all makes sense now. You'll get used to what you can do in a combat rounds. As LS said, ability checks that coincide with an action are allowed. If you're already attacking with a physical weapon, and hit, then making a STR check to push or lift or whatever is OK.

I dunno abut the rest of us, but I would be helped a LOT by a new map. I learn best with visual guides and the like. I'm not clear on where the spider is in relation to the others, particularly Liadan. Can't have her attack something if I'm not sure how near or far it is, and I dunno which weapon I can/should use.

Look where Batos is on the previous map. The spider is a three squares below (toward the bottom of the map) on the stairs between the two levels. I would have made a map, but I have to get back on the road in just a bit and I don't have time. I can make one tonight if this is too confusing and people want to hold their actions. Otherwise, I'll answer any questions posed.

Since pre-dawn light is visible, does this mean Baldy has her MP back? (I figure Nissa was out around midnight, maybe a little before. This makes 5 a.m. Nissa time.)
