Ch.5K: "Lost Souls" / Kell at Fairy Spring

You break the wall easily.

Inside the room, you see Patti-Melt and two fairy sized mechanical maidens. The tiny machines are missing limbs--the thin one missing her right arm, the fat one missing both legs. Patti's legs are melted and fused together, making her like a mermaid out of water.

She says, "Either go to your body or fight as Kell-Pi. We're doing all we can to protect your nymph body, but we need Kell-Pi's strength to defeat Apollo. Make a choice before my team ends up like me, or worse!" She begs you, "Please!"


As she says this, you get a message:

P3N-N1: "Sigrlinn and I are headed your way! Um. Over? Do I say over when I use my Com-Link? Sorry. First time!"

You detect two life forms heading toward the lab.

Kell nods and says, "Kell-Pi can fight in her body more effectively than I can, so I'll go the lab." And she whirls around to move that way.

Inside, her thoughts are racing. 'IDESERVETODIEIDESERVETODIEIDESERVETO-'

Once in the bed, you find yourself asleep. Your body doesn't seem to function very well right now, but you do hear a familiar voice in your mind:

Kell! You're you again! And I'm glad you're you, 'cause the sun's rising in the west and that's just freaking me out!


((You'll be able to act when the fight begins. You'll need to get out of your coma, so you'll lose at least 2 rounds, but you'll have stuff to do.))

Kell thinks to Helix, 'It's my fault, Helix. Not the attack, but the fact the mansion got hit. The maidens called me back and seemed to be expecting me to say yes to some random thing they were doing without saying what it was. I thought it was just another game the Immortals were playing with me, so I said No. And now it's my fault everyone got hurt. I deserve to die, Helix. I WANT to die.'

Kell thinks to her friend, 'Peace, Helix, I've already decided I'll stay until either the mansion is secured or everyone is safely evacuated, and I'll help however I'm needed. I owe everyone that much, especially those who were hurt.'

To herself, she thinks, 'But afterward is another matter.'

Thinking back to Helix, she says, 'Before the maidens called me, I was on my way to find you to ask you something. Before I was placed into Kell-Pi's body, did you try thinking to me at all? I was having a hard time remembering things, but I know I heard you at least once, and once I heard you, I remembered we could talk like this. Only before I could try thinking to you, my soul left my body and went to Valhalla. And when I came back, but still before I was placed into Kell-Pi's body, I couldn't remember you again.'
