One of my characters is an immensely powerful queen. She's the Heart of Magic Itself, part of a pantheon of pagan gods, and Queen of the Faeries.
I want to give her a mount that isn't a horse, and had my heart set on a giving her a large hart or stag, but I fear it would end up being like a...
Hi guys, I realise this is probably a bit old now, I just wanted to let you know that Inspired Quill accepted my submission, and my debut novel, The Old Ways, is going to be released in September!
I guess I'm just impatient. I've wanted to be an author since I was four years old. I've been driven every single day since to strive to become an author, and although I've received more rejections than I can count (which is a lot. Don't want to brag, but I can count pretty high :) ), I refuse...
Hi guys! So, here's the thing. I'm a young British lady (I say 'young', I'm 23...), and I don't have a lot of experience with the "big bad world", so I'm looking for a little bit of friendly help from friendly people in the same boat as me.
I completed my manuscript a little under a year ago...

I have writer's block, so I'm procrastinating here instead of writing :)
How are we all doing tonight? I don't post that often, I hardly ever come here unless I'm really, REALLY stuck. I guess this is one of those times ^-^
In the original mythology, yes, they are courts of Faery. I've tweaked the legends however and in my novel they are classed as races of faery. I've also used the sidhe and selchie as different races, so as to not cause confusion.

They're both faery, or faekind. Which do you think would be better? Two races of the same species? Or different species of the same, er, genus?
A friend of mine pointed it out this way: Is it a case of cats and dogs or is it a case of Englishmen and...
Now, before you groan and skip to the next thread, hear me out.
Thing is, in my novel, I have a troupe of pirates who play a bit of a minor role. They quite literally show up, do something flashy, then vanish off the face of the earth, maybe mentioned once in passing later in the novel. (Oh...
