I've got a character that is going to die early in my book. He is only going to make it halfway through the second chapter. It's not going to be a violent death, more like old age. He is going to die due to a genetic disorder. I'm really needing ideas on how much description I need to give to...

So this is just kind of a random question: What do you prefer to do when it comes to publishing? Do you prefer to self-publish? Get an agent? What's your opinion on each and why??

Hello, I'm new to this forum and have just recently decided to try to write a novel. This is my first attempt at a story, I only just started writing it yesterday. I have a few characters already, but am thinking of adding at least one more. I can't for the life of me figure out what the title...
