I'd be interesting in learning about self-publishing. I've actually heard its harder to sell novellas in traditional routes. (Which happens to be more natural than novels for me.)
Also I'd love a fantasy comedy!:D
Actually I used to keep mini glossaries of words I know technically don't exist, and add my own definitions. So I don't have to keep making up new words for the same thing.
In short: I see nothing wrong with it. Sounds fun.^^
An old post card on the shelf,
That was an old storybook,
Where fawns were sure to play,
And by the moonlight, sail ships shook,
Small coastal town, for food there
Was no delay.
Worlds of magic, wonder, and dust,
It gathered for many years it must,
And as there was not anyone to...
When Aida went back to her mother’s house, she found out that her mother had received word about her accomplishments. Whether she had already known or not, she didn’t seem to act like she cared all that much about anything she did. It was almost like she only wanted her to do chores, and nothing...
It's more I prefer the pacing of flash fiction (hence why I find it so hard to break into novels). I just wish dark fantasy flash fiction were a thing. I tend to top out at 1,000 words a lot of the time. I'm enjoying 7-sketches. Where it's seven flash fiction pieces that tie together to a larger...
Oh also plotting. I tend to be dream influenced, and thus that grain functions as the premise sentence. Then I lay out a bunch of different sentences beyond that to flesh it out. This is probably even more time consuming.
It will be interesting to see if my library can even stock it. I think it's self published? Not sure what the rules are on that. If no luck then I might ask.^^
Thanks again.
At the moment, I'm specifically trying to find out when sabots, klomp, holzschuh, klumpe, and other footwear of these varieties were first documented, and if there is a specific date it was stopped.
According to this wiki page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clog
It mentioned they stopped...
I'm finding I most fit in Post Apocalyptic Fantasy. Which I'm not sure if that currently exists yet. I know there were stories by more well known authors where the hero has failed.
Though that's what I mean by post apocalyptic. I mean it in the more, a hero rescues what little remains in a...
I'll have to check those out. I'm not even sure if I'll be ready for epic. Mine tend to focus on one continent, one kingdom, and then everyone else under an angry ruler.
I could reasonably call it fantasy and satisfied with that.
I tend to do more of the episodic historical that borders on fantasy anyway.
Thanks for answering.^^
A few months later, into a more heavenly light.
Night young and bright. Almost evening, closing light.
Mother tucked her daughter under the covers, then forgot to tell her Aida a bedtime story. A song of the deer, running and playing. In little groups of dear mates, never an only...
Does any epic fantasy need to be a large novel, or multiple books in order to be considered an epic in scope? Or is the main requirement that it has large scope revolving around kingdoms within the context of the plot, but can still be within 20,000 words?
As someone who tends to level off...
