I'm a husband and father of two. I identified myself as an athlete in my younger years. I played division 1 college baseball, and hockey when my baseball career was over. But I've always loved fantasy (books, video games). I began trying to write fantasy when I was 18. Obviously I found it difficult and daunting with the limited experience of my age, and my lack of writing experience. My original inspiration was from Dragonlance Chronicles. But later, I was influenced more by Tolkien (obviously), Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, and most recently George R.R. Martin. My writing has drastically improved with a lot of practice (and reading), and gradually turned from light and happy, to darker and more brutal, now back into the middle somewhere. I am hoping to find a community where I can get some constructive criticism and advice from people who are not family, and are not afraid to hurt my feelings a little bit if needed.
