If werwolves are immune to poison, then my immediate assumption would be that they're immune to the effects of alcohol in general. I.e. they can't even get drunk.
We all know how to format dialogue – where the commas go, the appropriate case for 'said', etc. But I'm not entirely sure if the same rules apply to speech quoted within dialogue, like when a character is relaying what another character said.
Would it be something like:
"So that wasteman...
I found the film thoroughly enjoyable. Gal Gadot was extremely likeable as Diana, Steve and Diana had great chemistry and a touching relationship, and the action was fantastic – especially the no man's land sequence. And I also liked the film's message, presented through Diana's character arc...
Transitions always give me some trouble, whether it's from one place to another or one time to another. Hell, even just something as seemingly benign as getting characters in a room to have a conversation is annoying. So often I end up just saying 'screw it' and do a hard cut and go in media res...
There are loads of lines I love, but I'll just drop this gem from William Blake's Auguries of Innocence:
A dog starved at his master's gate
Predicts the ruin of the State.
I loved it, especially because it focused in on the characters more – a wise decision leading into Infinity War, which is when they'll next show up.
The set-pieces were visually stunning, the banter was consistently funny, the chemistry between the characters was all great. I even think the...
For me it's gotta be this. The energy, the frustration, but also the optimism. It's a song I often listen to to get myself in the zone for writing – calling for the Muse, as it were. Plus Nick Cave is just generally great.
Looking forward to it. But if you want a chuckle, pay attention to Danny around 1:50 bobbing around like some Power Rangers minion waiting his turn to fight.
While I do appreciate the increasing instances of female action heroes (even if, as people have pointed out, there are far too many of them who are one-dimensional and dull), I always find it very fascinating to look, not at them, but at the people they're beating up. As much as there are more...
Studying Literature at university, I've come to something of a realisation. We were studying the classic Greek play Medea by Euripides, and, reading the first scene, I was met with perhaps the most laughably blatant instance of info-dumping and lazy exposition I have ever seen in my life.
For...
I'm currently having a lot of fun with Horizon Zero Dawn. The basic premise: in a post-apocalyptic future, humanity has reverted to a primitive tribal society whilst animal-like machines roam the earth. Your protagonist hunts these machines while trying to figure out her own origins and the...
I used to absolutely love Doctor Who, but that changed when Matt Smith became the Doctor; then the show started to take a steady but consistent downturn in quality. Now, this is nothing to do with Matt Smith – I actually like him, and think he did quite well with the material he was given – the...
This does look pretty damn sweet. I'm getting definite Guardians of the Galaxy vibes, which is great. Also, Cate Blanchett looks amazing. Does she just not age or something?
I totally agree: Iron Fist was extremely disappointing, in several areas.
I think the core problem is that the story lacks focus; the plots are too fragmented and don't have any combined payoff. Take Daredevil season 1: that story was clearly structured around taking down Fisk. The early...
