They weren't necessarily photoshopped, however perspective is everything. The bat is much closer to the camera in both photos than it appears. These bats have 5 foot wing spans - not 12 foot wing spans, as the photo would indicate. I worked with them at a zoo when I was a zoo keeper for years...
