What a coincidence -- I just logged in today to look for a critique partner.
I don't have professional experience with editing, but I do have a B.A. in English, with a minor in creative writing. While in school, I was able to take four work-shop style classes where all the students read each...
One of my favorite writing resources is Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi's Emotion Thesaurus. They have an online supplement about the different ways men and women tend to express "cardinal emotions," and it includes an entry on love. You might find that helpful.

For characters, I like to use names that give a sense of the culture I'm trying to evoke. If I'm writing something similar to Medieval Europe, this is my favorite resource: Medieval Names Archive For other cultures, I used Google and baby name books to research name conventions and meanings...

Dark Knight Rises was actually my favorite of Nolan's Batman films. Granted there were several plot holes (hilariously made fun of in HISHE's video). I liked the way it ended, with Alfred's dream coming true and Blake in the Batcave (but then, I'm a hopeless romantic).

I've been playing the soundtrack for Les Miserables a lot lately. Eponine's songs in particular always make me sad, but I keep listening to them. I think my family is getting tired of hearing me sing On My Own.
