I've always believed that fantasy offers an escapism or a perspective on ourselves in a way that is timeless, enchanting, and subconsciously leads to what it is to be human. Or something like that. Recently fantasy has been my main reading matter, from Tolkien to Steven Erikson and Terry Pratchet. I'm currently at uni doing creative writing & English, and have been a writer since the age of 15. As result I sacrificed my sleeping pattern, organisation, and employability.
