There were a lot of added sex scenes. Maybe they 'sexed it up' to get maximum ratings? I'm not prudish (well, not overly) but one of the scenes in the Brothel with Littlefinger gave me the irrits, it so obviously had no other purpose other than for the added perv value. I'm sure many wouldn't...

I loved it, but there were a few little things that were different in the series, things that didn't happen or happened differently in the book. My favorite characters in both the books and the tv series were Tyrion, Ayra and Syrio.

I've just written a blog on why I think 'Twilight' has been so successful on the market. Regardless what you think of it you cannot deny that. Basically I think it's because of the way Meyer developed the central character Bella. Does anyone else have any theories?

I noticed this too! It does make you wonder if they even bother reading it! I think they simply want to portray him as dark, which is missing the point really.

I loved David Eddings books as a teenager. Recently I tried reading them again - the 'Elenium' series. I found it predictable and tedious. And I HATE the way he writes women! Talk about Madonna-whore complex!

Yes but all the elements of that story would have been seen before - the evil antagonist, the dreamer, castles, dark forests, etc - you name it, it's been done.
