Haunt, Haunting, Haunted [Part 1]

Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

Dusk Prelude
Sisina of the Moon grew willowy
Small as a blossoming flower
Long white hair as clean and flowing as moonbeams
Soft red eyes as budding roses
Framed her zebra-patterned face
Shyness, quietness, serenity
Yet her true beauty bloomed from her wondrous smiles

Anthea of the Sun grey fiery
Vibrant as an elegant aurora
A sunburst of white blond hair shimmered as a sun crown
One black eye and one white eye
Peered evenly from her pale sunrise face
Vivacious, cheerful, optimistic
Yet her true beauty bloomed from her sunny nature

Elsi of the Stars grew brightly
Radiant as tiny fireflies drifting
A corona of pale, colourless hair covered her head in a long braid
Large golden eyes shone keenly
Like the heart of a star from her opaline face
Aimable, honest, gentleness
Yet her true beauty bloomed from her tender kindness

Ishley of the Okamidai grew silently
Contemplative as a wandering brook
Long silver hair curled round his shoulders
Red eyes gleamed deeply
Like watchful rubies in his snow white face
Quiet, pensive, reflective
Yet his true beauty grew from his hidden wisdom

Sedrik of the Kitsune grew bonny
Free as a conflagrant wildfire
Long flaxen hair flowed down his back
One black eye and one white eye
Stared mischievously from his sunset face
Mystical, tranquil, affable
Yet his true beauty stemmed from his love for his family

Nikolai of the Kraukaira grew temperately
Passionate as a whirling windstorm
Long breezy black hair rained down his back
Intense golden eyes stared from his rich dusky face
Emotive, fierce,
Yet his true beauty was rooted in his protective spirit

The moon child fell through one night
Clothed only in celesicant light
As she fell into the river swift and broad
The river streamed so wild and fierce
Closed sharply over her fair head
Listlessly and lifelessly she lay
Like a mermaid pale and wan

The star child fell through one night
Clothed only in incandescent light
As she fell into the river swift and broad
The river raged so storm and untamed
Closed quickly over her fair head
Listlessly and lifelessly she lay
Like an undine pallid and drawn

The sun child fell through one night
Clothed only in luminous light
As she fell into the river swift and broad
The river roared so silently and tempest
Closed slowly over her fair head
Listlessly and lifelessly she lay
Like a selkie dark and lonesome

The wolf child fell through one night
Clothed only in silvery light
As he fell into the river swift and broad
The river draped as an affluent veil
Closed rapidly over his fair head
Listlessly and lifelessly he lay
On the flooded fluctuating surface

The fox child fell through one night
Clothed only in golden light
As he fell into the river swift and broad
The river silkily wavering darkly
Closed hastily over his fair head
Listlessly and lifelessly he lay
On the inundated undulating surface
The raven child fell through one night
Clothed only in ebony light
As he fell into the river swift and broad
The river currently flowing narrowly
Closed suddenly over his fair head
Listlessly and lifelessly he lay
On the drowned rippling surface

Full Moon Aria

There was one memory that all six simply had to forget
One single memory locked deep within their hearts
Containing knowledge purposely forgotten as they fell
Then utterly forgotten as the sixsome were swept away
On and on through complex rivers of the mind
That was the very nature of a world wholly weird and wondrous

A gentle rain fell lightly through the river
Raindrops shone like tiny glittering prisms
A faint, uncanny chill arose that age
Frost glittered unnaturally on the fragile petals of water lilies
The sense of foreboding lingered through a cloud of coldness
As the river sedately drifted onwards

The massive marble white bridge reared curving, twisting, arching
A white Geidolaen dragon curling into a circle yet not succeeding
Tranquil whiteness above turbulent darkness
The dragon bridge saved the sixsome
From the furious, fathomless, umbrageous river
From their own hidden memories

Inside Sisina echoed trepidation, amazement, even excitement
Elsi smiled ecstatically as she thanked the dragon profusely
Endless, imaginative possibilities rushed through Anthea
Ishley gazed in utter awe, eyes wide with reverence
A riveted river flowed deep within Sedrik, utterly enchanted
While Nikolai simply stared intimidatingly

A golden flash of light flickered for an instant
Casting the pure white moon in an ebony sea of indigo
Dark waves rolling and rippling somnolently
A monstrous wave cascading into fine river rain
As the dragon bridge transformed, becoming a submerged ruin
Evidently allowing the sixsome their own choice in craft
The sixsome were then divided through new residential plans
Reunion combined creativity, innocence, imagination to flow
Through meditative, mordicant, musical magic
The ruined dragon bridge metamorphosed, complete with a crystal figurehead of a girl
The fruit of their labors grew amusingly, awesomely, weirdly
To create an unwalled flying train boat full of flowering blossoms

Huge and curving were the bow, stern, and hull
Fused seamlessly to a shining silver platform
Adorned with large crimson wheels
The stern was in the likeness of a train, complete with a whistle
The middle shone gleaming, a passenger car with no walls
The mast rose triumphantly in the centre

They then set sail in their fabulous vessel:
Sedrik cheerfully sailing, Ishley acutely watching,
Nikolai swiftly scanning from the crow’s nest,
Anthea happily flying round the mast, Elsi absently singing,
Sisina rapturously gazing skywards to the moon’s arcane light

Her white hair was diaphanous and shioriant
Her eyes gleamed with a hidden crimson glow
The smiling, shining, iridescent face of the moon
Was reflected back to her face, an evanescent mirror
Elsi and Anthea carefully, gently, softly embraced Sisina
The three sang triley, echoing the rhythmic air and water below

Sedrik’s flaxen hair teasingly blew into Ishley’s face
Though the Okamidai boy noticed nothing yet everything
Even when the Kitsune boy affectionately kissed his cheek
Ishley merely smiled absently and curled up to sleep
While Nikolai observed them in amusement from above

Even Nikolai’s sharp eyes could not see the thin, faint wraith
Rising from the rippling river towards the ship
The shade whispered once, yet only once
Kamui
Then was silent evermore
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

Waning Gibbous Choir

Sisina remained transfixed, transported, transformed
By the moon’s mantle of melody
Elsi and Anthea sweetly danced together
Inner primal power flowed through Ishley
His red eyes gleamed darkly as he howled
Echoing, resounding, reverberating within every heart

The ship it was amalgamated
Sailing serenely onwards through moonlight
Always following the water of the Lake of Lethe onwards
Into mystery, mystique, magic
Flowing onwards, flying onwards until
They came upon something so wondrous strange: Fata Morgana

Mist mirrored on the still water, sheening quietly and ominously
Sedrik steered ever so carefully, yet in vain
For reflecting mist confuzzled all aboard
Illusions creeped along the ship: Softly whispering, falling yet skipping,
Mischievous wily artifices sent to trap the unwary
By by whom? No one knew

Were they right side up or upside down?
No one knew
Were the silky trails skimming the surface of the veil above or below?
No one knew
Was the river sky or the sky river?
No one knew

Jagged mountains and violent storms appeared before the heroic family
But from where they came, no one could say
Yet hope remained, for Sedrik was by nature illusionary master
Nikolai, though he could not tell illusion from truth, bravely remained atop the mast
Beyond the deluging, cascading rain, the crackling, sparkling, blinding lightning,
Thunder cacophonously called into the night

Ishley spun spells from his voice alone
Weaving and dancing through the enchanted mist
Threading and singing through the hollow mountains
Sedrik slowly joined in, a soft reprise echoing through darkness
Nikolai then added his harmony, a whirlshade gliding through the storm
Their love seemed to soften the storm somewhat, yet then came a tempestuous reprise

Anthea then endeavoured to shelter Sisina and Elsi from the atramentous, gelid rain
Her wide, wonderful wings billowed and strained
Her back, it seemed, would be broken inside out
Terror clawed its fiersome way through her heart
For one wild, horrible instant
As lightning flashed
As the superior storm grew in unnatural strength

Celestial choir calmed the raging, roaring storm
Celesicant incantation intumesce
Solace sang through the sixsome’s relieved hearts
Sisina’s Monosera form shone transparent, adamant, incandescent
Song incarnated as iridescent form
Sisina’s soul music then slipped away to somewhere silent

Only then did keen-eyed Elise finally see the shade
Solemnly silhouetted and phantasmagoric
Against the rejuvenated moonlight
Flowing through the shadows
The apparition at last, rendered transparent
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

Last Quarter Euphony

Sisina delicately shifted to her other form again
She sniffed curiously at the shade, like a quizzical kitten until
Elsi and Anthea cautiously stared at the shade, full of wariness in their bright eyes
Yet the shade seemed harmless enough, though no one knew from where it had come
It simply hovered there, near invisible in the moonlight, yet still tenebrous
The shade barely had any features at all, only veiled in black and opaque shadow

Sedrik still stared tensely outwards
Long after Ishley and Nikolai wrenched his hands free
From his icy grip on the ship’s battered wheel
His entire body continued to shudder intensely
Determination, terror, and shock shivering through him
Even then he stood there, staring at something no one else could see

His refusal to move caused concerning consequences
A vital light seemed to have drained from his eyes
Sedrik the ever-cheerful was no more
He did not respond even when Sisina gently embraced him
He did not respond even when Elsi lightly touched his arm in concern
He did not respond even when Anthea lightly cleaned his face with her wings

Even though Nikolai tenderly lowered him to the still watery deck
Even though Ishley tenderly held his hand for a long while
Sedrik’s breathing remained
Rapid, rapid, rapid
Sedrik’s heartbeat remained
Too fast, too fast, too fast

The maidens three sang soulful, spirited songs
Healing, chanting, purifying of soul music
Moonlight sang serenely through the three
Illuminating the landscape below
Sloping silent hills and meadows
The Whirlshade Wilderness

Anthea’s half broken wings mended and eased slowly into former splendor
That vital light returned to Sedrik’s unblinking, rigid eyes gradually
Yet not one smile graced his pale face
Even when Ishley lovingly returned his kiss
Even when Nikolai nearly began shedding tears in unexpected unreserve
Something inside Sedrik remained lost

Sunny Anthea sang a sweet melody of vitality
Her metamorphosis radiated blazing life light
Rejuvenated, revitalized, novatia
A radiant Beonu reborn
Her song harmonized with tranquil moonsong
Recreating, rebirthing, renovating

A new light, a new song was born
A celesicant euphony
Anthea’s fiery light grew intense
Her wings became conflagrant
Her whole being burning and blazing
Transformed into light and love

Light and vital soul music flowed through Sedrik’s still form
His soft black and white eyes shone brighter
His furry red-brown ears twitched
He was well again once more
Sisina and Anthea nuzzled his face lovingly
While Elsi happily danced around in delight

So relived was Nikolai that the raven child suddenly embraced Sedrik
Ishley then joined in with a pleased and pensive embrace
The threesome were full of joy again
Though both Nikolai and Ishley did wonder secretly
Had Sedrik not just been affected by the traumatic storm
Perhaps the fox child had, for a moment, remembered what no one was meant to remember?

No one else noticed the shade silently staring their way
Staring sorrowfully against their love and rejoicing
Wishing for an end to shadows
Longing for an end to loneliness
Waiting for love alike so long ago
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

Waning Crescent Rhapsody

The shade swiftly became one of their family though
Nikolai, naturally, remained suspicious and wary
The raven child glowered repeatedly
Whenever the shade obliviously meandered by
As they journeyed onwards, Nikolai gradually accepted
The shade, it seemed, would stay with the sixsome

Unexpectedly, Elsi at the helm
Gave a sharp cry of longing and remorse
She posed stiffly, indecisively
Staring forlornly through the distant, ominous land below
As if seeking something greater, something missing, something lost
As if searching for the spirit of all life

Mist sheening in gentle wafting waves
Phantoms drifting aimlessly between
Massive Maindrake bones jutting violently
From the hollow, barren landscape
Marred by dust storms and haunting
Long lost dreams of dead dragons

Elsi fled to the very edge of the ship
As Ishley kindly took the helm
While Nikolai and Sedrik rested together
The Geidolaen child gazed rapturously
Yet with deep finality and oddly silent
Speaking with her bright black and white eyes

Sisina and Anthea easily sensed
Their soulmate’s awesome and tempestuous emotions
Yet knew nought how to comfort her
So the maidens three quietly, respectfully, mordicantly
Sang a soft song of reverence
Echoing through memory and glory
The colossal dragon skeletons
Hummed rhythmically, eerily, uncannily
In ghostly, chilling response
Memories fleeting through
The serpentine, tremulous air
Responded in shivering sorrow

Elsi’s four arms began to sway harmoniously
Her feet shifted slightly on the shining deck
Nikolai watched her keenly with a hint of awe and pride
Glinting in his sharp golden eyes
Elsi’s eyes, too, shone with powerful light
Illuminating her fiersome spirit

As Elsi danced, she seemed for all the world
Shiva creating, destroying, dancing mellifluously
In epic synchronicity within
Pulsing, palpitating oneness
Rhythm of the rippling universe
Emanated from her very essence

Sedrik recovered enough to dance, his frisky fox tail flitting slightly
Then Ishley dreamily danced with a lupine, natural grace, his silvery hair shivering slightly
Nikolai declined, feigning shyness to hide his groundborne clumsiness
Yet then he danced slowly in his awkwardly adorable way
Transforming in a whirl of wings and feathers into his Kraukaira form
Raw skill and speed became full of dark light as he gracefully danced

The maidens three seemed to be ethereal beings
Spun from wondrous strange moonlight, sunlight, starlight
Happily holding hands, the threesome twirled freely
Creating life, love, light from destruction
Becoming one with all

The shade stared sorrowfully
While the celesicant dragon spirits
Danced and sang so joyously
Hovering above their moon-shone remains
Echoing away faintly finally to life beyond
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

New Moon Incantation

Yet then there was that dreaded night while the moon
Slowly, slowly, slowly waned to complete blackness eerily dark
Sisina then became pale and still until
Weakly wavering between dark-like and light-like
She lay cold and shadowy, a gelid moonbeam
During the critical absence of the moon’s nurturing light

Yet why had she never told anyone?
Yet why had she never been so lifeless before?
Those questions could be answered by no one
Lest the terrible implications became too great
Those questions lingered, though, in everyone’s mind
A silent, ghastly ghost

A growing, rooting, tangible shadow cloaked all
As Sisina lay under the shade of the darkened moon
Through that frozen quiet night
Even the ship itself lacked the will to move
Their journey had shuddered to a sickening silence

Anthea wilted, her sunny light retreating inwards
Elsi neither danced nor moved at all, fading away
Ishley became so silent he almost vanished ghost-like
Sedrik’s bright eyes grew dim with worry
Nikolai only stared hard at nothing, his emotions turbulent

Hollow fear reverberated
Through the aimless family
Not what lay beyond
But of loneliness if
Sisina journeyed back to the Reservoir
If, if, if

For Sisina, fortunately or unfortunately
Was the definitive Heart of their little family
Without her to brighten their lives with her sweet smiles
How could they live?
Waiting was the only option left
Waiting, longing, wishing, hoping

Sisina’s chest rose and fell, harmonizing with the rising and falling
Of her family’s hope
The shade sensed the threatening sorrow hovering as a phantom veil
Yet could do nothing, only watch
Unknown, forgotten knowledge and wisdom hidden within
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

Waxing Crescent Acapella

Hope heroically returned
Sisina at last wanly opened her eyes
Creating a cascade of vital relief
Yet she did not smile
Something essential had drained away
During that horribly dark night

Healing and helping seemed to change nothing
No song nor spell brought back that spirited light
Sisina remained motionless and silently distant
What had so fundamentally transformed the moon child?
What had stolen her joy and life away?
Had she perhaps remembered what no one was meant to remember?

As Sedrik carefully steered the ship narrowly cresting the Algor Mountains
The fresh, pure air seemed to revive Sisina slightly
Though she remained unnaturally pale and wraithed
Her snow-white hair blew blithely in the wintry wind
Her red eyes were dim and pallid
Something still haunted her pale face

Even though Anthea tenderly enfolded the moon child within her voluminous wings
Even though Elsi kissed her soulmate duo warmly and lovingly
Not even Sedrik’s gently teasing antics made Sisina’s face so much as twitch
Ishley nuzzled her head, his face still strained with worry
While Nikolai’s gleaming eyes noticed every ghosted expression flickering through her frail eyes
Sisina seemed as broken as the frozen veil of ice across the mountain

The moon child was a fragile flower
Curling delicately into solemn silence without solace
Her crumbling, brittle state simply strengthened her family’s vow
Before journey’s end, the fivesome would help Sisina recover
For if they did not, everyone would fall apart into broken shards
For that alone they had to complete their journey together

A Geidolaen dragon’s eye glittered adamant down below
Spun from gelid ice crystals, incandescent moonbeams, evanescent starbeams
Snow snaked sinuously
Ice undulated draconically
Coldness grated glacially
The entire mountain chain curled into hidden spiraling depths

The wind grew wilder still
A living, breathing creature
Clawing and piercing
Screaming and howling
Waiting, longing, wishing
For final freedom of truth

Memories of a faithful fated night long ago, long forgotten
Whistled on the lonely wind
Warped and whisked away
Restored by the darkening of the moon
Yet abandoned once more, replaced with blissful oblivion

Sisina turned from the ship’s edge gradually
As if lost for a moment on a dark path
Then those dark memories were banished once more
Though the brokenness remained deep inside
Her crimson eyes steadily seemed lighter

The shade seized those fleeting, precious memories
Buried, buried, buried
Just as someone beloved was buried
Entombed within
Heartless ice and sepulchral rock
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted

First Quarter Lament

The wind whispered around the little ship
Stinging skin with coldly chilling crystal shards of ice
Ice and snow drifts whirled terrifyingly around
Frozen sand dunes threatening to crack the ship in half
Sisina flinched as the bow gave a disturbing groan
Though the frame held together, sorrow suddenly reared

Sedrik was literally flying blindly
The mountain loomed vaguely out of the storm
Neither Ishley nor Nikolai could see anything
Only a gelid blank whiteness
Sisina shivered uncontrollably
Even when swiftly sheltered by Elsi’s wide Geidolaen wings and Anthea’s warm Beonu wings

They hung suspended in the icy air
In a rushing, silent space
Motionless for a horrible instant
Unable to move in any direction
Unable to even think or feel anything
Unable to hold their bond together until

The entire ship cracked jaggedly, darkly in half
The faithful, fated bond snapped horrifically
The mast shattered and split into sharp splinters
No one knew anything but that dreadful, unfathomable whiteness
Everything was silent and trapped within
A ragged, mordicant net of unknown

Then the crumbling pieces of the ship fell
Into an new unknown force
Into a darkness so impenetrable
All light seemed to have vanished
Into a darkness so bitterly, horribly cold
All warmth seemed to have disappeared

The darkness became a complete life
Echoing through their hearts
Crawling from primal birth into new life
Overwhelming all into shadow
As the ship broke apart again and again
As the heroes fell into the Geidolaen’s mouth

Through unending darkness they fell
Surrounded by all tremendous emotions of the entombed dragon
Breaking the mighty spirit inside and out until
Everything was broken and shattered to memory slivers
No one knew what they were anymore, or even who they were
All they knew was consumed by the dragon’s destroying molten rage

Sedrik’s fiery fury, hidden before by smiles and cheerfulness, descended
An infernus wildfire blazing with darklight in his eyes
Nikolai’s whirlwind fury, hidden before by quietness and awkwardness, descended
A storm of starlight blazing with darklight in his eyes
Ishley’s calm fury, hidden before by dreaminess and selenity, descended
A howling whirlpool blazing with darklight in his eyes

Anthea’s ruining sorrow, hidden before by vivaciousness and joy, descended
A sunburst supernova conflagrating with lightdark in her eyes
Elsi’s destructive sorrow, hidden before by blitheness and gentleness, descended
A roaring starlight conflagrating with lightdark in her eyes
Sisina’s secret sorrow, hidden before by compassion and light, descended
A cascading moonlight wave conflagrating with lightdark in her eyes

For at last all six remembered what they were not to remember
Their fury and pain awakened the dragon’s ferocious reminisce of forgotten love
Everything hug again over a circular abyss swallowing all the sixsome treasured:
Their joy, laughter, gentleness, deep unshakable bond, memories of beyond, all love
Then the entire finality shattered into silent shards of shock, horror, grief
As the sorrow of what they had lost rose into a disonenting crescendo

The Geidolaen’s grief became the grief of the Ainnae three
The shade’s sorrow became the sorrow of the maidens three
The shade gave lachrymose, heartbroken wail
Lamenting, echoing, reverberating forever
Darkness fell once more, a veil of light and shadow
Haunt, Haunting, Haunted
